Jess Smith, COO and Trustee of the Conveyancing Foundation, shared her enthusiasm for the new partnership, by stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Checkboard as our new charity partner. We welcome them because of their commitment to change through charitable causes, which aligns perfectly with our mission to support the property industry while aiding those in need. We look forward to working together to support various charitable causes and promote best practices within the industry.”
Yazad Bajina, Director of Sales and Partnerships at Checkboard, added, “The Conveyancing Foundation is an amazing initiative that allows the property industry to help support those in need. Members have supported various charities such as the British Red Cross, Comic Relief, and Save the Children, to name just a few. After speaking with the Foundation team, we knew it was a no-brainer to sign up as a partner and work alongside them - we can’t wait to support these charities!”
As an official partner of the Conveyancing Foundation, Checkboard is joining other companies and organisations in the industry in setting wellbeing standards and best practices. The team at Checkboard are committed to supporting the Foundation's aims, including supporting and promoting initiatives such as the successful national ‘Be Kind We Care’ (BKWC) initiative, which encourages kindness among professionals and promotes better mental health through practical resources and the Wellbeing at Work Survey, which provides valuable insights into current workplace wellbeing challenges and opportunities.
Additionally, Checkboard will be a partner in the Foundation’s Charity Grant Scheme, launched in early 2023. This scheme allows individuals and businesses in the conveyancing sector to apply for charity funding to support worthy initiatives. In 2024, the Foundation extended its Charity Grant scheme to offer funding for Mental Health First Aider training to firms within the conveyancing profession and property sector.
Since its launch in 2010 the Conveyancing Foundation has raised over £1 million for charity, supporting causes such as Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff, the Wallich (homelessness charity in South Wales), Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice, and Alzheimer’s Research UK.
